i have stopped my pill and now i am on day 39 of my cycle and still have not gotten my period....i took a test and it was this normal????

  • It could take a while for your body to adjust and get back to your normal.

  • It's normal for it to take up to a year for your cycle to get back to normal. Most of the time, you should see some regularity in 6 months.

    Keep in mind that the length of cylce you had prior to the pill may not be what you will have now since the pill can make your body change cycle length.

  • I think so. I had been using the nuvaring and when I stopped it took me about 5 months for my cycles to become "normal" again. I did still seem to have fertile times and ovulation and stuff, but it wasn't until month 6 that it started following any normal sort of pattern.

  • Yeah, your body has to get used to not being on the pill. It could take a month or two for you to have a period on your own.
