How many generations do you have alive?

I will give my example, we have 4 generations of women. My maternal grandmother, my mother, myself, and my daughter.

They should all be the same gender like mine for example and not be married into the family.

  • Three. My last great grandma just passed away about 6 months ago. I feel like my son is really lucky to have the size of family he's got... he's got so many great grandparents.

  • 3 if it has to be same gender. 4 if not. But it would still all be same family line, not by marriage. Was 5 by blood (not gender) when our first was born. That was way cool.
