Does anyone else feel this way? I can believe this statement.

The entire civil rights movement of the 60's did absolutely nothing? Rosa Parks was wasting her time and her shoe soles? It's all about a month of curriculum changes that most kids ignore anyway?

This is what someone wrot on my last post. If this is how Cafemom members feel than God help us all.

  • You set up a call out post for a woman who isn't even online at the time, insult her mothering and butcher her quote, and then have the nerve to act all victimized? Wow.

  • Oh good gravy, OP. I can assure you that NP isn't treating you different than she treats anyone else here. You are just making it easy for her. You absolutely misunderstood (intentionally?) her post. And BTW, if you are feeling enraged maybe it's time to take a breather and push away from CM for a few counts to 10. It's not healthy to get enraged over stuff you read on a public forum.

  • Nobody insulted your race Emily and nobody attacked you. That is a complete load of bullshit and you should be ashamed of yourself. This is the wrong place to come if you looking for pity honey.

We are trying to help you through your misunderstanding but you just don't seem to get it.

  • Wow. I've read both posts and sadly, the OP is showing willful, blind stupidity. I read the OP's original comment and NP's response several times. This is what I got out of it ...

OP's comment reads like she believes that if they had never started Black History Month back in the 1920s (some 60 odd years after the Civil War) everyone would still be thinking like they did before the Civil War.

NP simply asked if it was ONLY Black History Month that has been responsible for the changes in America. She pointed out incredibly important events and asked if they meant nothing.

OP went all ballistic and nutso thinking FAR off in left field and went off on some tangent about it. OP needs to take a DEEP BREATH, a drink of Rum, look at a Capt'n Jack picture and start all over again. Maybe toss in a hot bubble bath as well.

  • We would all still be stuck in a pre Civil War type atmosphere and that would be a tragic thing to partake in.

Really? The entire civil rights movement of the 60's did absolutely nothing? Rosa Parks was wasting her time and her shoe soles? It's all about a month of curriculum changes that most kids ignore anyway?

She's saying the events that brought about the change are more important to the movement than a month dedicated to "education"-which isn't even done well.

  • You actually kind of butchered her thought and made it look much different than what it was, which is really horrible. First, she quoted what she was rebutting, and you left that out, and then you left out the "really?"

  • OP, i think you totally misunderstood her statement.

This is her original response to my statement in the original question:
Your statement says it all! A member of cafe mom? WHo are you the mother to , puppies?!.

She's read it multiple times. It's not about not "understanding", it's about her choosing to only read what she wants to read based on whose name is on the answer.

TBF, it's not like it's the first time she's done it. Seems to be a pattern, really.
