Looking for a midwife in my area...

I have tried looking through my insurance guide, but their lists are out dated. I can only find one in my area and she is on vacation until April. I had a bad experience at my last OB appointment and I am looking to switch asap. Does anyone know of any midwives in the Groton/ New London area?

  • I tried doing a search like the two you suggested, however, neither come up with any accurate results. None actually have a Midwife in their practice. They are jsut catergorized, OB, GYN's and Midwifery

  • You want a homebirth?
    CPM or CNM?

  • My husband and I would prefer to be in a hospital than a homebirth. I'm not quite ready for that yet.

  • Where ever, whatever~ your choice!
    ;-)

This just means you are looking for a CNM and should be aware that you're much more likely to have an OB-style of maternity care through the medical-model system.
If you are adamant about a midwifery model you can be aware of this through your interviews, through your prenatal care, and preparations.
