Has your child been to the dentist?

We are celebrating dental health month with a visit from the dentist. After reading a book to my 3 and 4 year old group about a visit to the dentist I asked how many have been to the dentist and the answer was pretty split. Made me curious.

  • I take my children when they turn 1 and then the customary every six months.

  • I took him when he turned 2, and he's scheduled again (now 3) in a few weeks. It's not so much to get a cleaning (which they don't do), but to get him used to the dentist and just make sure his mouth is healthy. My step-children have NEVER been to the dentist, and they are 13 & 15. (Their mom doesn't think it's necessary until they are 18. The court said that it was her decision because she has medical control.) Sorry, didn't mean to rant. :)
