Weird question about hormones and hair color

Is it possible for birth control to change your hair color?

I know pregnancy can, but I was wondering about that because when I was pregnant and after having her while I was on progestin only birth control, my hair was growing out almost brown, but now it's growing out almost white golden blond (my natural color) again. (I'm on Yasmin now.)

I wasn't sure if this should go under Health or Beauty & Style.

  • I'm sure it is..anything is possible! My hair used to be blonde. After I had my Son, it changed to the coppery brown it is now. Go figure.

  • Hi,

I know this question was asked awhile ago, but I was wondering if your hair began turning brown while being pregnant, or after pregnancy and after starting on a progestin-only birth control pill? I was also on Yasmin for awhile, and my super dark brown hair turned into a lighter color (along with falling out).

Just wondering why my hair got lighter on it.
