Can a W2 form be forwarded in the mail?

If I put in a change of address with the post office, will my w2 be forwarded?

  • They have been pretty worthless in changing my address for me. I have called 6 times and it still isn't.

  • You have to tell your company the new address! W-2's are NOT forwarded. Vote me down. I don't care. W-2's are NOT forwarded.

  • I didn't vote ANYONE down. And you can't simply "tell your company your new address" when they refuse to change it.

  • I wasn't talking to you OP. Someone voted my first response down. We have moved twice and had to go through some stuff to get our W-2's. I can't help you about your company not changing your address, but try calling your payroll department directly to change the address. They are the ones who handle the W-2's.

  • Unless the envelope says "Do Not Forward" a w-2 will be forwarded with any other piece of mail!
