Is it true once a c section, always a c section?

my first pregnancy i had a c section because she wouldnt come donw, fully dilated and no water on my bag that was he reason for a c section. now 18 months later im pregnant with my 2nd baby im 33 weeks. im scare if i have another c section. is it possible to have another one??!!

  • They should let you go into labor naturally and if you start having complications like before they will ask you to have one but every pregnancy is different so good luck with your VBAC!!

  • You can possibly have a VBAC. If you don't want another c-section make your wishes very clear to your OB and discuss all the options. Good luck!!!

  • no, my friend just had a sucessful VBAC.
    you have to make the decision to have a VBAC though.....the doctor won't give that to you as an option (most times)

    It safer to avoid a cesarean (even after you've had one or two) for most women.

    Sounds like they didn't want to wait anymore (failure to progress/wait), so likely a vaginal birth should be safe, you can look into this if you want it.
    There are many things you can do to avoid an unwanted cesarean.
    Do you have an OB now (surgeon), if so, you might prefer another kind of care provider to help you avoid surgical birth.

  • Thanks ladies, I'm going for VBAC hopefully it turns good. I don't want another csection, i really want to experience a normal birth
