  • It depends on what you want to do. 3-4 is the usual time for starting preschool, but if you aren't comfortable with it then you don't have to do it. Most preschools want the child potty trained so that is a factor. They also have part time so the kids can get used to being away from home.

  • I enrolled my older son in preschool the year he turned 5. He loved it! He went just 1 year and then he went to kindergarten.

  • Mine all went between 3 1/2 & 4 1/2. The younger, only went 2 2.5 hour days a week (5 hours a week total), my 5.5 yo is in her 2nd year of preschool and goes 3 full days (8:30-3:30) every week.

  • My kids all did/will start at 4. I start working with them around the age 3 at home. The preschool is 3 days a week for 2 hours.

  • Mine were all in at least a Mother's Morning Out at 2. They went 2 days/week for 4 hours/day. It was a wonderful break for me, a great independent time for them, and they had a lot of fun - and made some great friends! Preschool I didn't start with my older 2 boys until they were 3, but my daughter went at age 2 (again 2 days/week for 4 hours). My younger two I will both be starting at 2 (#4 turned 2 recently, but will be in the older 2's class in the fall) because it was such a good experience before.
