  • Oatmeal, raisin bran, and grape nuts cereal. We eat grape nuts, yogurt, and fruit every morning for breakfast. yum!

  • Of course, all the whole grain foods, like oatmeal, all bran, whole wheat and multigrain breads, etc. But there are some foods that are surprisingly high in fiber that people forget about. For example, did you know that a cup of raspberries has more fiber than an oat bran muffin? Apples, too, are high in fiber, as are pears and other berries. Artichokes are an extraordinary source of fiber..twice as much as a bowl of oatmeal. Peas, lentils and black beans too as well as broccoli and almonds.

  • Beans. I add canned and dry beans to all kinds of foods. Soups, salads, casseroles, tacos. When making tacos I use 1/2 lb. ground beef and a drained, rinsed can of black beans. No one every notices the difference and it is sooo much healthier.
