  • I was 3 cm and completely effaced at 38 weeks. I was induced at 42 weeks. Just be patient. It all depends on when your baby is ready to come out :)

  • Chill out, you are only 37 weeks, and technically that's give or take two weeks. No one knows for sure. People walk around dialated all the time. It means nothing.

  • Don't bother checking.
That info is pointless-- yet very harmful.
It's an unnecessary intervention, consider avoiding it.

    You're having unrealistic expectations.
You don't need to "progress" so it's adding strain.

Your body might not be ready for birthing for another month. Or baby could come tonight.
What your cervix info shows isn't going to tell you when you'll labor.
No point in checking if you're going to worry!

    Many women never get checked.
Most humans that have been born were birthed without anyone checking the mother's cervix~

  • it could be any day now or be past your due date the same thing happened to me i was 3 cm and 60% effaced and was 35 weeks but i made it to 41 weeks i tried everything to get it going and nothing worked its just when your baby is ready

  • I didn't dilate or efface at all until active labor. My mom and a friend of mine said they walked around at 3-4 cm dilated and 60-80% effaced for weeks. All this talk of "progress" means nothing. There's no telling when labor will happen; it could be tonight, it could be another 4-5 weeks. And there's not really anything you can do to make it happen. :(

  • Yes, dilation means nothing. You can walk around for another 2 to 3 weeks at 2 cm and not go into labor. Baby comes when it wants :)
