  • Yes you can, but I wouldn't start the formula until you have your milk supply up.  Early on you need that demand so your body knows how much to make.   It's also not generally a good idea to introduce a bottle too early. Bottles are so much "easier" then a breast the baby can get what's called nipple confusion and have a hard time nursing correctly. There are some wonderful resources for breast feeding info.. KellyMom and La Leche League for instance.   Good luck Momma!

  • Definately possible! If you can make it past the first 2week of breastfeeding though, it gets a lot easier, and it's great not having to get up in the middle of the night to make a bottle. My LO slept so much better at night and has only been sick once and is 7 months old...also has only had one diaper rash! The benifits of breastfeeding for you are great too...it greatly reduces your risk for both breast cancer and other types of cancers that affect women!

  • yes...but why?

i would give your baby at least 6wks of exclusive Breastfeeding. You don't want to have nipple confusion, and you should establish a healthy milk supply

    good luck
