  • Get a little potty now, and let your son play with it. If you don't have to push the date because of a daycare or preschool, then wait until he shows signs of readiness, such as telling you when he needs to pee, and being obsessed with his potty.
Try to not listen to other parents too much, who boast about ages and dates. Every child is different, and, unless there is a developmental issue, every child will pretty much train his/herself before becoming school-age.

  • when he is showing signs that he is ready. Ask him if he wants to pee in the potty like a big boy.

  • they have to have the vocabulary to be able to start, if he can tell you when he has to go "pee pee" thats a good start. You can tell he is ready if when he wakes up from a nap, or in the morning his diaper is dry, that means he has bladder control. thats the perfect time to start! GL
