  • You take control NOW, you take away favorite things, ground whatever you have to do to let her know you mean business, if this is at 9 years old if you do not put your foot down now, she will take over as a teen.

  • maybe something is bothering her and she's acting out. Have you tried talking to her?

  • What kind of stuff is she doing. Is she needing or wanting attention. As older said put your foot down now or she will take over.

  • If this is a recent thing, talk with her and find out what is happening. Changing behavior in schoolage children is often the first hint that something bad might have happened, be happening. If this has been ongoing throughout elementary, have her hearing and sight tested at the ped, and also ask the school's psychologist to assess her.
Find out what is behind it.

  • Has anything changed in her life to make her act out?

  • I agree with the other posters talking about life changes and things that might be bothering her. Also, maybe she has an undiagnosed conduct disorder?

  • Ask the school counselor to have her tested. She just might be ADHD. By law, if you request the evaluation they have to comply. You have to be open with the school. If you are showing them that you are trying they will help you, too. Talk to her pediatrician and let him/her know what's going on. You also have to put your foot down and let her know that this kind of behavior is not acceptable. And start taking away privelages from her like computer, music, tv, etc.

  • our daughter did this and we found a behavioral hospital for her. we put her in there for 6 wks. she learned that she really liked our family and wanted to be apart of it. Th e only way she could do this is to mind and calm down. It was very very hard work to get her back but she is doing wonderful now.

  • we are about to have a baby and my guss is that is why she is acting out, she has always been a bit difficult due to to adhd that i control with diet. maybe this isnt working anymore. i have tried many different homeopathic ways to control it. maybe i have come to the point where i need to ask that we find meds that work?
