Is ordering the same meal at different places a NEW experience?

I've been embracing change. Things I wouldn't normally do, I'm open to try now. We started going to different places to experience. He took me to a restaurant that had snails and fish eggs (escargot and caviar) and other fish like foods. I've tried calamari, but as an appetizer, not I knew what I could stomach.

I ordered Fettuccine Alfredo. I ALWAYS order Fettuccine Alfredo at new places if they have it. I enjoy eating this meal. Hubby says I'm not daring enough. Heh, he chose a spaghetti...but then again, his was a fish sauce. I see my order as an experience b/c I've never eaten at this place. A familiar dish with a twist to it every time. Different noodles, a kick in the's a new experience in my mind. They change it in all the places that I've tried the meal at so yes, it's a new experience. Just b/c I ordered what I ordered at the last place doesn't mean I'm not

What do you think? Is ordering the same meal at different places a NEW experience? Keep in mind, each place makes their own variation.

  • I do the same thing :) I find that I am disappointed otherwise . . . why spend money and still be disappointed? My husband doesn't get me, either.

  • I wouldn't say it's a "new" experience. A tweek on an old favorite def. Change is hard to just jump into for some. Give yourself time.

  • You're right, different cooks, different recipes. And why pay for something you may not like at all?! Eat whatever you want :p (bonapetite)

  • It's really not broadening your food horizons; Fettucine Alfredo is basically the same no matter where you go. Sure every restaurant has it's own tweaks, but it's standard fair found on just about every menu.
