Extra skin between teeth?!

i took my son to the pedi for his 10 month check up today..she told me that he has an extra amount of skin between his 2 front teeth (she called it something but i didn't catch the technical name for it) and that he will either grow out of it eventually, or when he goes to see the dentist at 2, he may want to cut it?!?!

Has anybody's kids had this before, is it a big procedure or did it go away on its own?!

  • Very normal. It does go away on its own alot, so try not to worry about it. This also can happen when the kids are older . . . just one of our biology's many weirdnesses.

  • It is normal and it does usualy go away...Even if it doesn't it is a simple thing to take care of...Just give it time! and breath mom. My 19 year old son has 2 set of teeth and will finally have the last 2 removed...just part of life. He also had a 12+ overbite and an underdeveloped lower jaw...all taken care of..good luck mom..
