  • I chose a daycare center. I'll probably get bashed, but here are my reasons; teachers were certified in education and CPR. (They were getting education while being cared for, they taught my kids a lot!) There were several adults caring for my child, I wasn't worried about someone having a bad day, snapping, and harming my kids. The center was always open, no vacations, illnesses, etc. I wasn't worried about a caregiver deciding that she didn't want to do it anymore - my kids were in the same center until they started school. I didn't worry about abuse; again, because there were always so many people around. I was also able to take the deduction on my taxes.

There are great at-home providers, and there are great daycare centers. I know people that have had AuPair's as well, and liked the experience. I think it's about what you are comfortable with, what you can afford.
