  • Call around, there are some birthing classes that will "grant" you in =). They get federal grants and such, so if they have enough participants, you can come either on a sliding scale or free. It also depends on what you are wanting from your birth experience, are you trying to go natural? Then you would want one that is going to give you those sort of tools to cope with labor.. otherwise, your hospital you are going to should have a class. Good luck!

  • See if there are any birthing classes in the area that offer a free carrier/carseat. We have a few of them here. The classes are free, and the gift saves some cash on baby gear, too.

  • Get into a birthing class! And have them give you a tour of the birthing area before you go in to give birth-if you choose to have your child at a hospital! We did the two Sat. moring birthing classes(kinda like the Cliff notes of birthing classes!) for our first and our last child! We wanted to make sure that nothing had really changed in the 4yrs. from being pregnant w/our first and our last! It was a good refresher course!

  • Hypnobirthing is great! If you can't take the class, you could just read the book. Make sure it is by Dr. Mongon.

    Good luck
