Appetite slowing at 6 mos?

My baby girl started on foods about 3 weeks ago. She eats 1/2 jar of fruit and 1/2 jar of veggies once per day, in the evening... She eats 5 oz bottles every 3 hrs... Recently she has been stopping at 4 oz. She sleeps all night so only ends up having 5 or 6 bottles per day. I dont think she is eating enough with eating 5 oz (adds up to 25-30 oz) , let alone 4 (20 - 25 oz)! Is it normal for her appetite to slow at this age?

  • That's when my son started eating less formula. Around 7.5 months he started only drinking 4 6oz bottles a day. I think when they start eating solids they don't take as much formula. My son now eats 2 jars of baby food at 1 sitting and still the 4 bottles a day. As long as your DD is still gaining weight and growing I wouldn't worry.

  • she is eating less formula because because of the jars of food. my son is the same way.

  • Some babies' appetites will slow when they start teething also...I'd say she's eating enough though...when she isn't she'll let you know.
