  • You want to make frosting with color? Get food coloring in the baking section of your grocery store.
    Follow any frosting recipe and add the color to it.
    McCormick has great food coloring.

    1 1/2 cups cold milk
    1 envelope DREAM WHIP Whipped Topping Mix
    1 pkg. (4-serving size) JELL-O Instant Pudding, any flavor

    BEAT milk, whipped topping mix and pudding mixes in deep narrow-bottom bowl with electric mixer on low speed until blended.

    BEAT on high 4 to 6 minutes or until mixture forms soft peaks. Makes about 3 cups or enough to frost 2 (8-or 9-inch) layers or 13x9-inch cake. Store frosted cake in refrigerator. For high altitude areas, reduce beating time to 2 to 4 minutes.

  • * 4 cups powdered sugar
    * 5 tablespoons half-and-half
    * 1 teaspoon vanilla
    * Food color, if desired

  • * 6 cups powdered sugar
    * 3/4 cup shortening
    * 2 to 4 tablespoons milk
    * 3/4 teaspoon clear vanilla or almond extract


    1. 1Stir together powdered sugar and shortening in large bowl. Beat in milk and vanilla with spoon until smooth. If necessary, stir in additional milk, a few drops at a time, until spreadable.

  • * 1 cup powdered sugar
    * 3 to 5 teaspoons water
    * 3 or 4 drops blue food color


    1. 1Mix powdered sugar and enough water to make a frosting that can be easily drizzled or used in a decorating bag yet hold its shape. Stir in food color.

  • * 1 Cup Milk
    * 5 Tbsp Flour
    * 1/2 Cup Butter (softened)
    * 1/2 Cup Butter flavored Crisco
    * 1 Cup Sugar
    * 2 tsp vanilla


    1. 1Combine milk and flour in a small saucepan, whisking to blend.
    2. 2Cook over medium heat, whisking continuously, until boiling - do not let it burn - switching over from whisk to spoon as the mixture becomes thick.
    3. 3Once the mixture is a very thick "paste", remove from stove, cover, and cool in refrigerator
    4. 4In a large mixing bowl, combine butter, Crisco, sugar and vanilla, beating until well combined. Add cooled milk/flour mixture and beat until fluffy.

  • Use GEL food coloring. Wilton also has a no taste red.

  • 1 pound confectioners sugar
    1 brick cream cheese
    1 stick butter (no sub)
    1tsp vanilla or other flavoring
    beat till fluffy, add food coloring of your choice, thin with VERY LITTLE milk if too stiff
