I have fresh aspagus(spelling) and i have a steamer...should i just steam it or use butter and stuff after or before i cook it

any advice

  • It's a personal choice. My husband won't eat it steamed. He wants it pan fried or grill. Any way you do it remember to trim the stalks esp. at the end. Sometimes I have to use a peeler to get the 'woody' part off. Steamed I ise nothing on. Grilled EVOO, panfried-butter.

  • I usually drizzle with olive oil, salt, pepper and garlic powder and grill until tender.

  • I have not yet made asparagus that I would consider impressive - or even tasty. Haha. My neighbor, however, used to dip it in Italian dressing and grill or broil it. Oh my gosh! It was amazing!

  • Pan fried with a little olive oil and salt. Steaming asparagus seems to leech out all the flavor.
