Why is it taking so long to dry? (recently painted my cabinets)

Yesterday I decided to give a new paint/stain seal to my wooded cabinets in the bathroom well at this moment they are still feeling like they haven't started to dry. Why is it not drying up it says it will take atleast 6 to 8 hours to dry it has been more hours than that...arg! I followed directions what could I have done wrong?
Thanks Ladies!

  • I am guessing here...but is it cold where you are? Usually, when the weather is below 60, it will take 24-48 hours for the stain to dry. Keep the door to the bathroom open to allow air to flow in and it will speed up the process.

  • if its cold outside and rainy its going to take longer to dry as the air is alittle more moist. be patient it will dry.

  • humidity is likely the culprit... especially depending on where you live...

  • Is it an oil based paint/stain? Those can take a very long time to dry.
