Tax refund and direct deposit

We were scheduled to have our fed return direct deposited today. It is not there (or pending). The irs webiste said it was sceduled for today but contact them by the 16th if it doesnt show up. Anybody else ever have this problem? I have heard the IRS always does their direct deposits on Fridays...hmm. Are hter cerian times of the day they make the deposits or anything?

  • Ours was scheduled for today, and it came in direct deposit. Half of it was missing, but it came in.

  • Mine came in last friday when it was supposed to. If it isnt there then call the bank and make sure they had the right account number. IRS sends notification to the banks on Thursday to tell them what amount is being dep on Friday. I have heard some banks wait until Monday to release them.

  • It could be that your bank is still processing it. Different banks have different policies. I would call the bank and ask them.

  • Mines was scheduled for today, exactly half was missing, it went to pay off the remaining balance on a student loan. Honestly I'm glad. I don't have to deal with it anymore

  • It is probably pending deposit on the bank or debit card side. Give it 24 more hours and it will be in there.
