In what order do you do your childrens birthday parties?

Is this the proper way or is there a better, more effiecient way?
food served buffet style
games/party events
cake/icecream/sing happy birthday
open presents

it just seems like such a long time for a 2 year old, doesnt it?
is there a better way to do this??

  • We do a meet and greet. Then do the activity/party games. Then food afterwards as to be honest you don't want anyone throwing up during running round games! Then we do happy birthday sing song. Then present opening.

  • For a two year old there is no reason to have a buffet and I would not plan for more than a game or two. We don't do "real" food for birthdays for children unless they are sleepovers.

  • we greet people as they come in the door we have pizza normally on the table and let the kids run wild in the back yard then when my sons get bored and come in and try and grab the gifts and start opening them we do gifts and then cake right after. its a kids party we never do anything sides have people come over and have fun lol.

  • Meet and greet?

When I do parties for my kids, everyone comes in and just starts eating, talking and playing. games/fun 1-2 activities, presents then cake.
