My crock pot got wet. Is it dead?

I don't want to go into details about how this happened, but I have a beautiful little crock pot a good friend gave me, and while it didn't get submerged in water per se, it got pretty wet. Advice? Throw it out?

  • Let it dry out and try to use it. See if it heats up.

  • If you can afford it......put it in a big ziplock bag full of white rice. The rice will absorb any moisture.
Then plug it in and see if it sparks OR smells when it heats up.

  • Let it dry out and as someone else said if you an afford it put it in a bag of rice o absorb the moisture. Let it dry for several days and then plug it and see if it sparks or smells and if t heats at all.
