Do you have a carbon monoxide detector?

  • Yes, it is required by law in my state that EVERY house have one along with a smoke detector. They are under $30, why wouldn't someone have one? You can NOT smell carbon monoxide so the ONLY way to know is to have the detector screeching.

  • Nope, and it isn't needed in my house because I have no gas burning appliances, I don't have a garage, there is nothing in my house that will produce Carbon Monoxide.

  • No. We don't have any gas hook-up in this house. It's entirely electric.
    We always had them when we had gas, though. In Chicago it's a law and has been for a long time so they were all over my dad's house and when we moved to PA years ago our apartment had them already (but my dad also gave us a couple just in case). Don't need them now.
