What causes your stomach to get hard during pregnancy?

I know it sounds stupid but I really want to know. Is it the growing uterus? I always knew my stomach would get hard but I never knew exactly what made it that way.

  • There are two things that cause your stomach or abdomen to get hard during pregnancy. The growth of the baby, uterus, and muscels tightening around them that made the abdomen soft yet firm.

When the abdomen gets tight for short periods of time, then that is called a contraction. The stomach slowly tightens, peaks, and then slowly gets soft again.

    Good luck with your pregnancy!!!
