1 Bump

Have any of u mommies used Emfamil Restfull formula for nightime? We are having problems with our 41/2 month old waking up atleast 4 times a night.

She just recently started waking up so often, she was waking 1 maybe some nights 2 times to eat, the past week it has been atleast 4 times. I know that they sell formula that helps them sleep longer by slowly thickening in there stomach. Has anyone tried one of these formulas and if so would u suggest it to someone else? pros/cons please . THANK YOU

  • all i have to say is Emfamil just keeps creating formula..ahh (i do not use it..both my boys got violently ill off it..every damn kind)

shes 4 1/2 months..shes probaly hitting a growth spurt and thats what is causing her to wake up for often. You can't force her to go to sleep or to sleep longer. just get up and feed her and soon enough she'll be back into sleepin and maybe sleeping threw the night

  • Growth spurt. Any formula designed to make them sleep longer is bunk. They sleep longer when THEY are ready and will have periods of frequent waking due to different phases through the first 2 years, at least (then again when they become scared of the dark, get nightmares, wet the bed, etc...). This is totally normal, they're growing very quickly.

  • It's a growth spurt, it's totally normal. If she's waking and crying like she's in pain, have her checked for an ear infection. She could also just be starting to teethe. But those "formulas" are junk. Give her her normal formula, maybe try giving her an extra ounce before bed to see if she just needs more to eat. But don't put anything in the formula, and don't buy that crap. It's a recipe for disaster.

  • Our dr said when that came out it was just another marketing tool. If he is getting that hungry, maybe he is ready to move onto rice cereal or something that you could ask the dr about and you could try feeding him that at night to keep his little tummy fuller. :)

  • She is probably teething or something. If your 4 month old is waking to eat 4+ times a night she probably needs to for some reason. Don't try and use some unnatural formula that swells up in the tummy to make then "feel" full and MAYBE sleep longer. That just sounds WRONG to me!
