My son is 6 and a half months old and pulling himself standing. Is this normal? Both mine and DH's moms were shocked when he started crawling at 4 months, but standing, and he knows mama and dada and he's starting to chew food. Has anybody else's kids done this anywhere near this early?

  • Every child learns at a different rate. Just be equally encouraging to your other children if they learn a little slower. Great job mom!

  • I have a little one who was doing things as the same rate, it just depends on the child.

  • My older son was pulling up and cruising furniture at 6 1/2 months. He also figured out how to pull a bucket over to the couch to climb up. My girls were all 9 months or so when they started cruising. My son was also talking at 6 months (knew like 25 words at 10 months) and was speaking in sentences at 12 months. He started walking at 10 months.
He's 9 now and just a normal kid, no smarter than any other kid his age. He just did everything early as a baby.
