What do I look for in a piano instructor?

I will be looking for one for my son soon.

  • Somebody who is patient and does not get easiely frustrated with children. I had a mean piano teacher as a child...she was very professional and knew music well, but was not kind.

  • Someone who has experience teaching children or is specifically a teacher for children. References are another good start.

  • word of mouth from someone who has had lessons from that person is ideal :) I took lessons when I was young and have a very good friend who I will be sending my daughter to when she turns 3...
