Oh no.. i think im having an aural migraine and havent had one in almost 2 years since i was on hormonal BC!

which i am not on now anymore, my husband got fixed last march. but the reason i stopped taking that BC was the migraines! first, id get tunnel vision, then, id see rainbow colored, zig-zag lightning shaped spots in my vision for about 20 minutes and then id be left with a HORRIBLE headache. i would almost always throw up during them. i started having them everyday, sometimes more than once. thank god i realized why they were happening and havent had one since the day i threw them out back in april 09.

anyway, we just ate dinner, and then i began noticing the little zig-zag. it wasnt as vibrant and blinding as it was back then, but its annoying and in my vision. and then i got a littl eye-ache but nothing serious. i still have the aura right now but its not that bad. and i would have gotten the headache pain by now and havent so im not sure. i have read that you can have aura with no pain. but what would cause it then?

the only thing ive done differently today is not had a cigarette in 5 hours now. we smoked up the last of our carton at 1:30 and are trying to quit. so despite the cravings i havent smoked one. but i dont think the lack of nicotine can cause this, can it? im freaking out a little! i can see but im sooo terrified of those awful migraines coming back! :(

  • Get off the computer and don't watch tv or anything. Hydrate, get some caffeine and yes, quitting smoking might bring them on, as well as stress.
