How to store fresh baked cupcakes?

Tonight I plan on making red velvet cupcakes for my co-workers (yes, they're really that awesome). I've never made them the night before. Do I cover them and leave them out overnight? Or should I put them in the fridge? Tomorrow morning I'll be icing them if that helps any.

  • covered on the counter is fine if its not humid. if it is, the fridge. Good call to wait on the icing. Can I have one?

  • I just made some. I have them covered, on the counter. However...I didn't wait on the icing. Maybe I should have, but I decorated them all cute for Valentine's Day.

  • I made cupcakes for my daughter's bday a few weeks ago (for school) & put them in the fridge - keeps them moist :)
