How much would you tip for a $7 boy's hair cut?

I gave the lady a 10 and told her to keep the change. My husband said that was a lot for a $7 cut. I usually tip $5 for my $20 cut. Is that a lot or reasonable? What would you tip?

  • I would have done the same, the haircut is so cheap anyway the extra $3 is really no skin off my back (not that I am rich, believe me) and I would figure the stylist couldn't be making much on the haircut so they probably really need the tip. I ususally tip $5 on my $15 haircuts to make it an even $20.
