If someone got emancipated....

when they were 16 and then they got pregnant by a 24 year old what would happen. when you are emancipated you are legally a adult now so could they do anything? She will be turning 17 in april...

  • no once you make yourself a legal adult your parents no longer have a say. The only way the person could be charged is if she did it. and if she is almost 17 at 17 they pretty much consider her an adult anyway

  • couldnt the police do anything? I wouldnt think they could if she was a "adult" She lives with me and pays rent and buys food just like a adult. So I would think that it wouldnt matter...

  • when it comes to a minor underr the age of 17 yes the police can press charges even if she doesnt want to ... we do it all the time ... in this case tho it really depends on her papers just call a lawyer ask them im sure she would be fine tho we get alot of those threw our offices

  • when a minor becomes emancipated they are no longer considered a minor. They have proven to a court they can hold a job, pay their bills and whether the parents have passed away or just don't care they have no parental influence anymore. It is not easy to be emancipated.

  • the age lie wouldn't exist as an issue as long as she was emancipated at the time of the sexual act.
