Baking soda question

I just starting making some chocolate chip cookies, and I JUST realized I forgot to buy baking soda. I only need a tsp of it...can I continue on without or do I need it?
I'd run to the store, which is only 5 minutes away, but I don't have any money.

  • Yes, you need it. Your cookies will be flat and hard without it.

  • I know the cookies will be without. But my DD(5) informed me that baking soda on the floor makes the floor better to skate on. Yes, I did tell her not to do it again and she helped me vacuum the floor. But she wants to know what she can use to skate, LOL

  • Baking soda is cheap - even the brand name is under a buck for a small box. Scrounge up some change and go get some. Happy tummy & happy kids ;).

  • Oh crap. Okay, thanks. Do you think what I've mixed together so far will be okay in the fridge until I can get baking soda?

  • All my change went to coffee yesterday - I literally have nothing!
Luckily my stepmom brought me some when I met them for lunch today - didn't get to bring my son some cookies, but I'm sure I will have enough left over next time he comes to visit. :)
