Hey Arizonians: Does Senator Joe Arpaio have a nice ring to it?

Maricopa Sheriff Joe Arpaio said Monday he is open to the possibility of running for the seat of retiring Sen. Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.) in 2012.

  • Arpaio, a Republican, has also been criticized for letting thousands of felony warrants go unserved while he chased illegal immigrants. According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, there are about 59,000 outstanding, unserved felony warrants in the state. The majority are in Maricopa county the state's most populated county.
and theres the fact that he isnt doing his job

LOL. You do know that the sheriff's dept. has to know WHERE the felon is to serve that warrant...right?? And maybe you don't live here in AZ, so you don't know, that most felons go lay low in Mexico until the heat dies down in the investigation...or they move their permanently. Also, many of them have undocumented family members here locally, so they hide out at their house. That's just a few possibilities.

  • why is it when criminals get caught, the first cop-out they try (after "I didn't do it" of course) is "You're abusing your power!" Ya know what criminals? Quit whining. No one wants to hear it. People who testify against you in court aren't "snitches", they are good citizens, and officials who make you pay for what you've done aren't "abusing their power", they are doing their JOB!
