I bought a pot of hyacinths at Lowe's. They are in full bloom. When can I plant them outside?

  • It depends where you live. For example, in New England you should wait until May to avoid a freeze, but in MD you can probably do it in April. You want to make sure there is no chance of a freeze. You can Google safe planting times and you will see US charts for safe times to plant. GL!

  • You can wait till fall if you want, they are a plant that comes from a bulb, and you usually plant them when you plant tulips, as long as it isn't freezing (or going to) any time other than mid summer would be fine! I love the way they smell!!!!

  • PS-if it is a large pot, split the bulbs and plant in 2 seperate locations, more flowers for next year!!!!!
