Do think you can maintain a relationship on just an emotional connection?

Why/why not?

  • Emotional connections are vital, but can't be the sole connection in a relationship. However other things like physical and sexual (those are not the same) connections and build and grow over time. I've found those are actually easier to build off emotional connections than the other way around, trust me!

  • I think that's the most important part but no .I think you also have to be supportive to one another, work together financially, and be on the same page with parenting, ect.

You can have an emotional connection with anyone but there are other things that need to be in place to have a life together.

  • I think a strong emotional connection is a great beginning -- but not sure that over time it would last -- what's going to happen when one or both meet another person that they have an emotional AND a PHYSICAL attraction/connection with? Personally, I have tried to make myself stay with someone because I like who they are -- as aperson. But if your not physically attracted as well?? I think you need both -- atleast to some degree.

  • If its deep enough and strong enough then yes. My husband and I have spent a good portion of our marriage apart, and have had to sustain our relationship on our emotional connection, because a physical one just wasn't possible.
