  • I was a chronic nail bitter in my younger years.
My grandmother tried dipping my fingers in tabasco sauce, making me dip my nails in black pepper, and even soap and not rinsing hands..... did not stop me.
All the sudden when I got into High School... I decided I wanted pretty nails. I wanted to paint them to match what I wore.... And I stopped.
I know have a nail polish fetish. LOL

  • Nervous tension. You may not be able to alter the triggers, but you can change the response to the triggers. Try keeping gum, sugarless gum with you at all times and when you think about putting your hand to your mouth, go for gum instead. And then think about what makes you bite your nails. Write it down.
