  • In a pinch, I've used a toothbrush and toothpaste! It cleans them really well. Vinegar works too.

  • Steam. They use pressurized steam to clean them professionally, so at home you could put your jewelry in a steamer basket and steam them for several minutes and then buff them with a microfiber cloth.

  • No! Don't use toothpaste! If there are minor imperfections that you can't see to the eye in the stone, which there likely are, then the toothpaste could damage the stones. You can use vodka, or here's a recipe for a solution from Real Simple.
