  • Not for my kids, but I have 4 ratty baby girls... we just introduced 2 more, the adults are around 12 months old now, and the babies are about 8 weeks.
They're incredible pets for people of any age.

  • Ick no. I had a friend though whose step dad had a pet rat. He would walk around with it. OMG I thought it was so nasty lol. I would tell him to put that thing away. He loved it though.

  • I have a friend who raises rats, to sell and to feed to her pet snakes, (now that's something I would never own).

  • My boys had white rats. They adored them, and they were no problem.

  • Pet rats are NOT nasty! As long as you keep their cage clean, they do not stink. They are just as clean as cats. They groom themselves almost constantly, when they're not eating or sleeping. They are very smart, too! They can learn many tricks and even learn their names. They are soooooooo sweet and friendly, rarely ever bite (unless you get them used to being fed through the cage bars and they mistake your finger for a treat, but that is not their fault; they do not bite out of mean-ness *not really a word, I know. lol*). I've had 2 sets of rats in the past and I love them!

  • We had a couple a few years ago....they were so lovable. Never thought they would like to be pet and cuddle but ours did. We never had any problems with them.
