Eat before or after?

This may be a stupid question.
Is it better to eat before or after a work out?

  • after. preferably a meal high in protein. after a good work , the body absorbs the protein better which helps muscle development.

  • After. The workout increases your body's metabolism and overall effectiveness, and it stays up for a while afterwards, so you can essentially burn off and use what you're eating immediately without extra effort, if that makes sense.

  • It's good to eat something about an hour or two before a workout, but it's definitely good to eat after. Make sure it's a good balance of lean protein and complex carbohydrates (like a chicken wrap on a whole wheat tortilla).

  • I would say after so that you don't get a stomach ache...maybe eat a little something before but not alot
