  • I just started giving my 10yr old son a allowance. However I also explained to him that everyone in a household has to play there part & chip in. I make him save half his money & the other half is his choice to spend. His chores were the same as before the allowance , only now he gets a little spending money. I feel that it has been successful due to he now see's how quickly spending a buck here or there goes & appreciate's it more.

  • No. He's 2 lol. Once he's older I probably will. Maybe like $5 a week to begin with. Teach him to save.

  • Not yet, but I probably will start soon. I will add a couple of chores onto the ones he already does.

  • Yes - I do $4/week for my 9 and 11 year olds. Half of it they can spend or save, the other half goes into their savings accounts at the credit union.

  • yes and no. They get change every now and then they have to save what they get. They find it in stores or parking lots. It gets them looking for lost change. Plus we can't afford to give them money. We let them earn rewards.
