emotional child?

i have a 2yr old daughter that is very emotional. i mean she cries over every thing. even spilling her drink, she even scared ove every thing. what should i do?

  • Be patient. Help her learn to use words to express her emotions.

  • Don't try to "toughen her up" b/c she might feel like you don't care that she's sad/upset/whatever. A lot of kids are just built that way. You have to help her COPE with her feelings. If she's sad, help her find something to calm her down. If she gets scared easily, help her find a place she can go, or a stuffed animal she can hug to help soothe her. Sometimes if they get really worked up, 10 minutes of their favorite TV show can really help bring them back down to earth. Just be patient... these emotions could balance out or they could get worse, so try to help her cope as best as you can. Plus, I'd take this opportunity to give her lots of hugs and kisses... when she's 13, she'll be telling you to piss off. :)
