Sick baby

My 5 month old has been teething for weeks, but no sign of teeth.

Also, he seems to have a cold.

Symptoms:

watery eyes,
runny nose,
clear mucus in his saliva (which is sometimes thick),
he had a fever which has gone,
chokes on saliva sometimes

but other than that he isn't fussing etc.

Is there anything I should be doing? I have given medicine, he has gel for his gums, he has vapor rub, I'm making sure he is warm and I use an aspirator in his nose regularly.

He has been like this for just over a week.

Thanks

  • Probably just a cold. My dr said if its affecting sleep you can try tylenol. But it really just needs to run its course,

  • Thanks and I forgot to mention I've been using saline solution for his nose too.

I just feel helpless watching him get upset or coughing like crazy, gasping.

  • Went to the dr, as I felt a bit paranoid. She said he's just experiencing teething and cold combo. Gave antibiotics but said he has no chest infection.

    Thanks ladies
