  • I've seen some posts here and there, diet and nutrition groups mostly. Maybe you should set up a group if you have time. It has always been really controversial, people get up in arms over everyone elses kids. lol

  • My two cents: :) Hugs. The best way to deal with things when a member of the family is struggling with extra weight is for the whole family to have a lifestyle overhaul. It must be the whole family together, or else you run the risk of causing emotional issues in the person with the extra weight . . . especially a kid.
You probably have already, but make a rule that your household will not have "goodies" unless it is a holiday or birthday party. Decrease the use of processed sugar, don't allow white bread products, only 1 or 2 percent milk, no chips except whole grain, lower-fat. Cereals must have 8 grams or less sugar per serving. No sugar colas or punches. No candy. The whole family needs to be on board. No diet, just healthy choices.
It is really a family issue, so the support is better aimed at how us parents are providing "healthful" living in our home.
    Good luck.
