my sons wake up just screaming.

When ever my sons wake up after a nap or in the morning they wake up just screaming and nothing calms them down. I dont know what to do. Could somthing be wrong with them they are twins. And im a 17 year old mom. They havent done this until after they turned a year. PLEASE HELP!!!

  • HI my son now 11 did that to for awhile when he was 2. It was also the time my exhusband left so I wasnt sure if that had anything to do with it but it was really scary to hear him scream like that. Please check out this link..

  • They could be having nightmare and when one wakes up it startles the other one and so he starts cryng also. try playing music while they sleep or if you can try reorganising thir room maybe that might help.   • Check out Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child by Dr. Marc Weissbluth. I saw in your response to another question that you're also having trouble with them napping. The screaming may be due to the fact that they aren't getting enough sleep.
    When my twins were that age they went to bed at 7p.m., woke between 6 and 7a.m., went down for a morning nap between 8-9 (whatever is two hours after waking) then an afternoon nap two hours after waking from the morning nap (so between 12 and 1).
    The boys will be two on Thursday and sometimes one will wake from a nap an unhappy guy. I usually pick them both up and sit on the couch with them and talk quietly to them until they calm down. Sometimes I can distract them by putting on a DVD and giving them a glass of milk.
