Why do i get advice instead of an answer to the question???

Ive posted questions a few times that are very specific and instead of getting an answer i get advice on how i should be doing my just curious how you get an answer to your question instead of advice, not that i mind advice but know one on here has enough of our history or know how of our situation to be giving it...

  • Well their advise is their answer. It's just not the answer you're looking for. Since we don't know the situation, you need to explain a lot more to get your answer.

  • =\ maybe some people just don't know how to answer a question? or some feel that the advice they give is the answer. idk.

for some of my questions, i'd give options. "do you think i should do a) or b)?"

i'm sorry you don't feel like you're getting the help you need.

  • It all depends on how you ask the question. And I agree, the advice is their answer and usually it is what we need to hear, even if we don't like it.

  • Keep in mind that CM was designed to provide a place for moms to exchange advice, shared interests, etc. So, that's exactly what moms are going to do. Q&A is a great place to seek advice, ask/answer questions, help others & learn from others. However, you have to take the answers/advice for what they are...other mom's opinions. If you need SPECIFIC information about an adoption, maybe CM Q&A isn't the place you should be looking?
