Moms who have/had financial aid like a pell grant

Did you ever get a check after everything was paid for for whatever was left from your grant? Here in our state, if you get financial aid and don't use it all on classes, books, and other purchases at the college, you get a check (usually, depending on the type of aid) for the remainder. I was just wondering if that's how it is everywhere, or if I just live in a weird area.

  • It is a federal program so it would be the same in every state. It is meant to help with your living expenses.

  • What bjane said, pell grants are federal, therefore the same guidelines are followed throughout every state in the country, for both refunds and re-payment.
