What is the best sewing machine for my needs?

I want one that can do not only regular easy stitching of cotton fabrics, but also one that can handle embroidery.

I would honestly prefer one that I can enter the embroidery design into and it does it for me, like computerized or something.... but that isn't a complete necessity.

Also, I am not willing to pay over $300 but I am willing to purchase online and use any brand.

  • You need to try them out and make sure you are comfortable with them before purchasing. You are planning to do many different things. What machines are you familiar with and how much experience do you have?

  • I have pretty good experience and training (both professional and personal). I have used Singer's in the past and one Brother. Both worked fine and I honestly kind of preferred the Brother and have been looking at those again... but I am open to expanding my horizons. :)
